Week 10...finally!

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

I feel like it has taken forever for week 10 to finally get here. That's probably only because at my doctor's appointment 1 week ago, we found out that I wasn't as far along as I had orginally thought! But today is officially 10 weeks!! Last week I thought I was doing pretty well! I hadn't been sick since the Sunday before last, so I thought I was past all the sickness....until last night when I was throwing up again. Not what I wanted at all. I hadn't been feeling great since Wednesday, but then yesterday, it was really bad. Today was a better day at work, so that was good. I'm getting hungry, so Brian and I will have to get something to eat soon! My next doctor's appointment is on Tuesday, July 14th, so I'm looking forward to that. I did all the blood work the last time, so I'm hoping that part is behind me, but I should have to get those RhoGam shots since I have negative blood type...what a joy for the girl that HATES shots!!!! Strange that I don't really let giving blood or iv's bother me, but for some reason, plain ole shots are a nightmare for me!! Let's hope that won't be too bad!

Brian and I need to get on the move about moving if we are wanting to do that before the baby comes, because I have a feeling that the time from now until our due date will fly by, and the baby will be here before we know it! Crazy! Hopefully we can get something figured out soon!

Dawn's little one!!

I'm so excited for Dawn and Ryan that Sam finally made his grand entrance to the world!! From the pictures I have seen he is adorable, and I can't wait to see even more of them as he continues to grow up!!! I will have to chat with Dawn sometime and have her tell me everything (and I mean everything!!!) about how labor was for her to try and get a picture. I feel that some people "conveniently" forget to tell people things, so I want to hear the honest truth! I'm not a huge fan of surprises, and I feel on the day that I am giving birth, I think that would not be the time for me to have any! hahaha. So Dawn, when you read this, I don't want any sugar coating! hahaha! I can handle it! :) I am so happy for you and Ryan!!!!!

Come on Dawn!!!!

So I'm really excited that one of my best friends, Dawn for those of you who don't know who I'm talking about, is in labor right now!!!!!! She was more than ready to have baby Sam, so I'm sure she is hoping and praying that the process goes quickly! She called me last night around 10:30ish and told me that her water broke!! The last update I got was around 10ish this morning and she was still doing well, and was progressing!! I hope that everything continues to go well for her and Sam today!! When she found out she was pregnant, she thought her due date was going to be June 25th....it ended up being June 28th, but I told her that I thought she would have Sam on mine and Brian's wedding anniversary, June 23rd....it's looking good so far that I might have predicted that correctly! I just hope that everything is going smoothly with the delivery and that Mom and Baby are doing well when he finally decides to make his grand entrance!!

Congrats Dawn and Ryan!!! :) I can't wait to see pictures of Sam when he finally gets here! I'm anxiously awaiting a phone call or text!! :)

9 weeks....again!

So since my estimations were wrong earlier, I am actually now really 9 weeks along. Since I posted the 9 weeks happenings last week, I didn't want to post them again!! This week was a pretty good week as far as sickness is concerned. When I get hungry my stomach starts to hurt me, so I try to not get hungry, but that's hard to do when I'm working.

Brian and I had to move into his parents house for 3 days last week while they were paving the roads/parking spots at our house. Friday we thought everything was completed, but I was unhappily surprised when I came out of the house this morning and found more signs saying that we would be unable to park in our neighborhood for the rest of the week.....so we have moved into Brian's parents house! Thankfully they are so nice to let us stay here! I guess they are looking at it as some early time to spend with their grandbaby! hahaha.

Also at work this week, the A/C went out and I was burning up at work on Wednesday night and all day Thursday...it was miserable! I was so thankful that we finally got it working because I wasn't going to be able to take it at all if the A/C didn't get under control!!!

My next appointment is on July 14th, so I'm looking forward to that!! More to come!

My first OB appointment!

Today was our first appointment with Dr. Karon! Although we had to wait forever, it was nice!! We got to see our little one on the ultrasound for the first time, and that was really exciting!! She did some measurements and said that our official due date is January 23rd, which is 4 days later than we had originally thought. However, it is 2 days after both mine and Brian's mom's birthdays, so that would be exciting if Baby Howard was born on their birthday! Talk about a great birthday gift! haha! Dr. Karon said that everything was going well, so that was a relief too! I couldn't help but be slightly nervous going into the appointment, but after leaving, I felt much better! Especially to know that there was only one little Baby Howard in there! Twins run on Brian's side of the family, and while twins usually comes from the mother's side, it was still nerve-wrecking to think about! But we did get official confirmation from Dr. Karon, that we will only have 1 little Howard running around right now! Thank the Lord!! haha.

I didn't hear the heartbeat on the ultrasound, but Dr. Karon did mention that this is the earliest time that the heartbeat could be detected, so it might have just been hard to hear. But the baby's heartbeat was 154bpm, so thats nice and strong she said. It was so neat to see it flickering on the ultrasound screen! She printed out our pictures for us, and it was so exciting to have! They are posted on the fridge right now, and as soon as I can get them scanned and onto the computer, I will post them on here for everyone to see!! We are really excited!!

I will be updating the ticker countdown at the top of the blog so that it is more accurate with our due date, since I found out today that I'm not quite 9 weeks yet.....so that will have to be fixed, and then it will be more accurate!! :) Stay tuned for more posts!!

An olive?? I don't like olives! Couldn't it be a grape like Todd suggested?! I like grapes!

Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

I hope that I am past the sickness this week. I am completely over it and can't wait for it to be finished! There is nothing worse than feeling like you might throw up at any moment every day! Now, I have had my good days from time to time, but just when I think I am past it, it comes back full force the next day! I did get some new maternity clothes (Thanks again Tina!!) last week, so that was fun! I can still wear most of my clothes, but sometimes by the end of the workday, I'm ready for some more comfortable clothes!!!

Tuesday is my first appointment, so Brian and I are looking forward to that! It will be really nice to get to see the doctor, get everything checked out, and just have the peace of mind that everything is going smoothly! I haven't had any indications that anything is going wrong, but I think just having this appointment well help!

Only 3 more weeks until my first trimester is over, and I'm really hoping that the sickness stops at that milestone! I have started getting the itch to pick out baby furniture and all that fun stuff, but I don't want to do that just yet! But time is passing by, so we will need to get ready! We are still trying to figure out if we are going to move before the baby is born or wait until after, so we have some decisions to make where that is concerned. We are staying in Lexington, but we just need more space than what we have now! We are really crowded now! I'll keep everyone posted on that front too! Don't worry!

Here's to hoping for a good sick-free week!!!!! A girl can dream right?!

Little trickster!

I feel like our little one already has a sense of humor, although I don't necessarily think it's funny at all!! I have had my really sick days as I have posted before, and then I have had a few days where I felt fine! I was thinking I was in the clear. Then low and behold, the sickness would come back with a vengeance. Then a few more days of feeling better! Now I was really thinking I was over it....until this morning when I threw up again at work and had to survive through the day. I'm home resting now, and will back at work tomorrow! I'm ready for all the sickness to be over!
My first appointment is on Tuesday, and we are really looking forward to that!!! There will be a post after the appointment to let everyone know how it goes and where we stand!!

Till then!

I do love raspberries!

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

This week was not the best week.  My "all day sickness" was out of control and I had to miss some time from work   I also went home on Monday for Mom's retirement party.  It was really nice to go home for that, and the party was really beautiful.  It was really nice also because Ginger, Matt, and Neva were in town for the party also.  I hadn't seen them since Christmas, so it was great to see them again.  Mom and Ginger were giving me all kinds of tips on things to try to ease the sickness.  Some of them seemed to help, but I still had a couple of days where no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to help at all.

Yesterday was a much better day where I actually felt decent, so I am just praying that continues and that I will keep feeling better.  Maybe this raspberry will settle my stomach better than the blueberry! haha.  I hope that things are continuing to develop smoothly for Baby Howard, and I am sure they are since I haven't had any problems!  My first appointment is next week, so I'm really looking forward to that!
