Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.
So I am really happy that I'm 15 weeks now!!! Just one more week until 4 months!! Yay for that!! I feel like time is passing so slowly, but I feel like when we can finally find out what we are having that the time will start to go faster for me. It's hard for me right now because I feel like I can't really pick anything out! hahaha. If its a girl, I want a white crib, but not if its a boy....I want different paint depending on if its a girl or a boy...so I feel like I'm just on hold for now! But hopefully everything is going smoothly with its development in there! I still haven't felt it move yet, or if I have, then I don't know it! But they say that it might be another week or so before I really feel it!
I thought we would post more pictures of the new belly size....I feel like it looks much bigger, but I'm not sure if you all will agree! hahaha. My jeans are definitely much tighter, and most of them I have to use the little rubberband trick instead of buttoning them! I'm in the process of getting some Guess jeans turned into maternity jeans so that I will still be able to wear jeans to work, but the first try proved that there are a few tweaks that need to be made, so I'm working on that!!! Take 2 will come this week!
My next appointment is next week, and they are doing the AFP bloodtest on me. It looks for a certain kind of protein in my blood that would have come from the baby and abnormal levels of that protein could mean there could be something going on with the baby such as Downs Syndrome, etc. I don't know if they will do another ultrasound at this visit or not. I don't think they are, so I am expecting to find out the sex of the baby at the visit after this one, so sometime in September is my guess! Don't worry, we'll let everyone know!!!

Don't worry if you don't feel movement too soon. I felt flutters at about 16 weeks and then felt nothing again until 21w6d, and they say everyone should feel movement by 22weeks, meaning we were getting nervous that we hadn't felt it yet, and then he showed us his might by POUNDING me on the last day before we'd really freak out!
ReplyDeleteAnd at least you can spend time now picking out the essentials regardless of gender: stroller, car seat, bottles, diapers, etc....the non-decor essentials anyway :) Let me know where you register when you do, if you haven't done so already!
I will let you know....we haven't done it yet...I wanted to wait until closer to when we knew what it was, so we could do all that stuff at one time, so we will wait a little bit longer!! :)
ReplyDeleteI get a little worried that I won't notice when it moves in there because some people say that it feel like hunger, some say it feels like gas, so I'm like "how on Earth do you know the difference?!?" hahahaha.
When it's really real, you'll know. Like I said, I felt flutters that felt like a churning stomach early on, but then I felt nothing, not even gas-like. And then at 21w6d, I was laying down with my hand on my stomach watching TV, and I got pounded so hard that my hand moved...it was undeniable. You may not recognize the early stuff, but when the baby gets really strong, you won't be able to miss it! (And Sam's legs are just as strong now as they were on the inside...if he has his feet on my arm when I'm holding him, he stands up on it to put his mouth right at my ear instead of curled up against my chest...that's some strength!)
